Kyra Kares. A little help. A happier home.

Waynesboro and Staunton, Virginia

A little help.
A happier home.

Hi, I'm Kyra. I come over while you're home and take the hardest stretch of the day off your plate: dishes, toys, laundry, lunches, and 30 to 45 minutes of playing with the kids so you can finally finish something.

A parent is always home. I'm the extra pair of hands.

What I do while I'm there

Two hours is enough to undo most of a day. Here's where it usually goes.

  • Dishes and the kitchen reset

Sink emptied, counters wiped, dishwasher loaded or unloaded. You get your kitchen back before bedtime instead of after it.

  • Toys and tidy-up

Floors cleared, bins refilled, and all the small plastic things put back where they actually live.

  • Laundry

Washed, dried, folded, and stacked by person. I'll put it away too if that's the part you hate.

  • Lunches for tomorrow

Packed and in the fridge, so tomorrow morning is one whole thing shorter.

  • Playing with the kids

Thirty to forty-five minutes of real attention: blocks, coloring, reading, backyard. Long enough for you to get something done.

  • Whatever the actual mess is

Every house is different. Tell me the thing that's been bugging you all week and I'll start there instead.

How it works

  1. Pick a time

Book whatever I have open. You pay when you book, and that's what holds it.

  2. I show up and get to work

You're home the whole time. I don't need managing, just a quick "here's tonight."

  3. You finish something

Cook, work, answer the email you've reopened four times, or just sit down.

  4. Keep the slot if you want it

Same time every week is a standing spot, billed on the 1st. There are only so many.

What it costs

Two hours is $40, and every hour after that is $15. Same rate whether you have one kid or four, and the clock starts when I get there.

  • 2 hours

    $40

The standard visit. Kitchen reset, a load of laundry, and playtime.

  • 3 hours

    $55

Room for lunches, a second load, and a real dent in the toy situation.

  • 4 hours

    $70

For the weeks that got away from you. Everything above, unhurried.

  • Your night, held

    Weekly standing spot

    $40 per 2-hour visit

Same price, same time every week, held for you and billed on the 1st. There are only so many slots, so this is the one that runs out.

You pay when you book, and that's what holds your slot. Standing spots are billed on the 1st for the month ahead. Need to move a visit? With more than a day's notice, reschedule or take a refund, whichever suits you. Inside a day I'll find you another time instead, so you're never out the money. No free trials, no discounts, nothing to sign up for.

The important part

A parent is always home. I'm the extra pair of hands.

I'm 15, and a parent or guardian is in the house the whole time I'm there. I won't be left alone with your kids, I won't be there overnight, and I'm not in charge of bedtime, medicine, or discipline.

If what you need is someone to watch your kids while you go out, I'm not the right person for it, and I'll tell you that honestly.

Questions parents ask

So you're a babysitter?

No. A parent is always home while I'm there. Think of me as the extra set of hands you'd love to have between dinner and bedtime.

Where do you go?

Waynesboro and Staunton. If you're right on the edge of either one, say so when you book and I'll tell you honestly whether I can get there.

My house is kind of a disaster. Is that a problem?

That's the job. You do not need to tidy up before I get there. Nobody is being graded and I promise I've seen worse.

What don't you do?

Deep cleaning like bathrooms, floors, and ovens. Pet care beyond filling a water bowl. Driving anyone anywhere. Anything that needs a ladder. If you're not sure, just ask.

Do you charge more for more kids?

No. The rate is the rate. One kid or four, it's the same price.

What if something comes up and I need to cancel?

Life happens with small kids. With more than a day's notice you can reschedule or take a refund. Inside a day I'll find you another time instead, so you're never out the money for a kid who woke up sick.

How far ahead should I book?

A few days is ideal, and further out for a weekly standing spot since there are only so many. Once booking is open you'll see everything I have free and can claim it right from this page.
